About

After 22 years as a Union Gas Fitter, Carl Gerber purchased the Main Street business, Glencoe Radio Electric, from Mr. Wilbert Hind. Two years later in 1953, the gas fitting, plumbing, electrical, propane and appliance business was moved from Main Street, Glencoe, Ontario to his home residence and became known as C.J. Gerber Electric.

In 1975, Carl’s son Bruce and his brother joined their father to reinvent C.J. Gerber Electric to Gerber Electric Ltd. It continued as a family owned and operated business, dedicated and committed to great service, advanced products, innovation, integrity, safety and excellent workmanship. Now on 3rd generation Gerber’s, Gerber Electric is owned and operated by Stephen and his wife Stacey. In 2019 we expanded to our current location, 278 Elizabeth Street, Glencoe.

We are an ambitious family and business that has become known for our quality, expertise and great customer service.
